I grew up in Reno, Nev. with every intention of staying put and keeping comfortable. Fast forward eight years and I've taught 3rd grade students in the inner-city of Phoenix, started a family in the Pacific Northwest, and honed my writing and communications skills in the non-profit world and as a small business owner. All things I never imagined. Through all of this, I've embraced the uncertainty that comes from always being a little too far from home in worlds I never expected to be. It's this feeling of being out of my comfort zone that has brought about my strongest professional quality; that is, communicating in ways that people feel informed, included and a bit like friends.
